Christian Apologetics: Building Foundational Faith

Colorado Christian University explains it by stating "Apologetics is quite literally defense of the faith; the Greek word apologia means “defense” as a lawyer gives at a trial.  In every generation, people face the challenges, questions, and concerns of the gospel message of the Christian faith. Christians seek not only to explain their beliefs but also to commend their beliefs."

• Classical Apologetics: Uses traditional philosophical arguments for God's existence (e.g., the cosmological or design arguments) followed by evidence for the resurrection.

• Evidential Apologetics: Focuses on empirical evidence, such as archaeological findings and historical documents, to build a case for the reliability of the Bible.

• Presuppositional Apologetics: Argues that the Christian worldview is the necessary foundation for knowledge and reasoning, challenging the underlying assumptions of non-believers.

Apologetics is what led to true faith discovery for me and is the foundation of this ministry theologically. In searching for an understanding of faith, deep study, looking for "plot holes", and the fascination of where science aligned kept hardening the concrete in the search of the Bible—not creating cracks as expected. As directed in 1 Peter, we must have a strong defense of our actions and beliefs. Apologetics is that defense.
